Rabboni Reining
Horses opens for business...
Garth
Brown and Vittorio Rabboni are proud to announce
the grand opening of Rabboni Reining Horses, in
conjunction with Brown Performance Horses. The
facility is located on 150 acres in Valley View,
Texas, nestled in the heart of Horse County.
NRHA Open Derby Champion Brown is the trainer
of the operation, which develops Reining
prospects for sale, as well as older finished
horses. Rabboni hails from Reggioemilla, Italy,
and owns the operation. He stays in touch
constantly and visits the farm every couple
months. The goal for Rabboni Reining Horses is
to sell top quality Reining horses, and all
horses will be for sale.
“We won’t hold anything back to show,” says
Brown. “If it happens that we don’t sell before
a show, we’ll still show the horse.”
The Rabboni Reining Horses facility is the
perfect place for prospects to reach their full
potential. The facilities include:
- 130 x 275 feet indoor arena, 200 x 400
feet outdoor track
- 150 feet outdoor cattle round pen
- 24 stall show barn, 15 stall general use
barn
- 20 acres of lake
Despite the large number of stalls, Brown and
Rabboni are cautious to only have 15-20
two-year-olds in training, along with a few
older horses. “We’re dealing in high quality
prospects, not high quantities,” says Brown.
“This is a hands-on operation; I am working the
horses myself.”
The ultimate goal of Rabboni Reining Horses
is to have high quality prospects and finished
horses of all prices. Everyone is invited to
come and pick out their next show horse.
While the majority of the prospects will be
offered for sale from the farm, some will be
steered towards sales, including ranch sales.
Last year, Smart Crackin Chic was sold by Brown
in the National Reined Cow Horse Association’s
Futurity Sale. In 2006, the Smart Chic Olena
mare won the NRCHA Snaffle Bit Futurity with
Todd Crawford aboard.
A wide variety of bloodlines are offered at
Rabboni Reining Horses. Some highlights include
a yearling full sister to Tinsel Nic (AQHA World
Champion Senior Reining), a Wimpys Little Step (NRHA
Open Futurity Champion) yearling colt out of
Setting Off Sparks, a Nic It In The Bud yearling
filly out of a daughter of Lil Peppy and a
two-year-old Reminic N Dunit colt out of Lenas
Ruby Chex.
